Challenge: Johnson cake-off

Kourtney started talking about making a cake and the next thing I know we were having a cake contest at our house.  So on Wednesday night we baked the cakes, mixed the icing, and cut out gum paste shapes.
Kourtney was so excited she slept in her clothes, though I told her we weren't starting until 8am.  First question Thursday morning was, how long until 8am?

8 am comes and I was asked to set a timer and get out the cakes.  And so it began...
Kourtney kept saying, I better hurry!  How much time do I have left?!?  I am clearly watching way too many cake shows around here.  Whenever she watches them with me she says, I don't think any of them are going to win because they are not going to be done on time.
My little prissy diva matched her cake and struck a pose.
Blake got into it too!
When it was finished I said to them, "Competitors, move your cakes!"
Kourtney did such a good job!  I loved her dinosaur!  Such detail for a 6 year old.
I also loved her tree.  I didn't help her with anything except spreading the icing around.
I kept telling McKenna that her cake looked like a rock star cake and it really did.  She just kept piling it on!  That is a butterfly under everything.
Blake also did a great job!  He placed everything on his cake and did all the sprinkles and candy.  I just helped him spread his icing and wrote his name.
What a fun time we had.  :)

I love that you were brave enough to allow the competitors to move their cakes all by themselves. What a mom you are!! Such a cute idea, and they will always remember how much fun they had!
