To the moon

When I was younger (as all of my oldest friends know) I wanted to be an astronaut. I love the movie space camp. I did experiments with Rockets. I watched the Nasa station. I love the freeze dried ice-cream. Somewhere along the way I realized just how much I hated math and science and my dream faded. I was tickled when I had this conversation with Kourtney today...

Kourtney: I want to be an astronaut. Mommy, have you ever been to outer space?
Me: No.
Kourtney: Well when I grow up I am going to go. You can come with me.
Me: OK!
Kourtney: We will see the moon. Do you think we will see aliens?
Me: I don't know.
Kourtney: If we do we can ask them how to get back home and they can help us.

I love this age where anything is possible. When I was pregnant with Blake the midwife came over to our house on a regular basis and Kourtney always helped her. She talked non-stop about how she was going to be a baby doctor. Sometimes she will ask me what my job is and I try to explain to her that being a mommy is my job right now. She is such a thinker and gets really confused because she wants to be a mommy AND something else. I tell her she can. She must think I'm a slacker for only being a mommy right now!

As I watch my kids grow and turn into these little people it is exciting to be a part of. I only hope I can provide the guidance, love, and spiritual covering that they need. And pray that most importantly they love Jesus with all their hearts and follow him all of their lives - even to the moon.

I have no doubt in my mind that you will give Kourtney, McKenna and Blake the guidance, love and spiritual covering they need. By the way, you already are. You and Travis are wonderful parents, and God will surely take care of your children. Just look what He did for us! He'll be faithful to you too
