Hurricane season

YUCK. My parents live in Robert, Louisiana about 50 miles east of Baton Rouge. They evacuated on Sunday after church and stayed at a hotel in Mississippi. They have been in contact with some church members and the property was not badly damaged. A huge tree fell just feet from their house and took down power lines, but there is no damage to the structure. Praise the Lord. There is still no power at the church or their house.

Now we set our sights on all of the other systems coming into the Atlantic.

A friend called me last night and asked if I knew anyone impacted by Gustav... honestly, your family was my first thought. I'm sure that's a little strange since I've never met you, but it's the truth. We're still watching and praying for you too!!!

I'm so glad you posted something....I have been thinking about you and your parents...both in different areas, but can both be easily affected by these icky Hurricanes. I'm glad that all is well and will keep you all in my prayers!

Thanks everyone for your prayers and concern. The Lord was good to us. Even though we lodged in a "podunk" town (not where we originally tried to book a room), we later realized that we were just on the outskirts of Gustav tornadoes, rain, wind, etc. We're back home now, and although things aren't perfect, we are blessed to have electricity and access to the internet. Was even able to watch the RNC online - PTL!
