4th of July 2012

I love the 4th of July.  It is predictable and festive.  Always wearing USA colors (and making my kids match), always buying sparklers, always seeing fireworks, always eating watermelon and corn on the cob.  Love it all.

This the girls wanted to make a 4th of July cake.  However they both had different ideas of what it should look like.  In true reality tv style we decided to hold a contest.  Both girls drew up their ideas for the cake and Blake judged (without knowing who's was who's).  McKenna's design won and they call got to decorate it.  That was fun.

We finished the festive day at the Homestead Fireworks which were good this year.  Then we came back to a poppin neighborhood and stayed out with lots of friends doing street fireworks until about 11:00.  Great day.  I love my country.
