Memorial Day

We were so excited to have an invitation to James and Luci's house for a cookout today. Not only were Travis and I excited, the girls could hardly stand to wait around this morning before we left. We loaded up in the car with the kids, bathing suits, and empty bellies! We got not a couple miles down US1 and came to a stand still in traffic. Apparently everyone was leaving the Keys from their long weekend. We got about 10 miles in 30 minutes and decided it would take 3 hours to get to Homestead and that was not an option. So we pulled over and......ate at Tower of Pizza. YUM! We were starving. The girls cried hysterically when we decided to not go to Junior and Juju's house. So we promised to take them swimming.
So after nap time we took them to Founder's Park. We had been to the park and beach there but never the pool. The kids loved it and so did we! It was not crowded at all and it was a holiday! So we will be visiting here more often this summer.
Kourtney jumping off of the diving board! So brave that little girl. Just like her daddy.

It was nice to see your face in one of the pictures, Kelly. You should do that more often (for your mom). Looks like you had a good day in spite of the change in plans. Such cute pictures of all the children! Grammy-Mom

At least you had sun in the Keys, we got rain, rain and more rain with thundering & lightening around 1:30.

It took me about an hour to get back home to Homestead on Sunday night (8 PM to 9 PM), and that was with a moderate traffic flow. The guy in front of me during much of the length of the Stretch was extremely annoying. He couldn't go more than 7 to 10 seconds without tapping on his brake. I had to stay clear of him to avoid doing the same. I heard that later on that night there was a MASSIVE accident on the Stretch that shut it down for HOURS !
