My superpower - part 2

I thought I would share a quick story that happened to me in Seattle. Blake had a little cold before we left. Wednesday morning I woke him up at 5am to go to the airport and noticed his eyes were red. By the time we were in the air, both of his eyes were running. When we landed 7 hours later, I was wiping out green goop every 30 minutes. I had a bit of an uneasy feeling being so far away and knowing I couldn't take him to the doctor if I needed to. So I called my pediatrician and spoke with a nurse. She asked me several questions and told me to just wipe his eyes with a warm wet cotton ball and call back in 24 hours if it was the same or worse. She said if it didn't improve I would need to take him to the ER or find a pediatrician in Seattle! I am sure all the mothers out there know that sinking feeling. It wasn't that an eye infection would be a big deal - but being clear across the country was just scary.

About 20 minutes after I got off of the phone with the nurse my midwife, Edna (who delivered Blake), called me out of the blue. We hadn't spoken since before Christmas! We chatted for a bit and then I mentioned Blake's eye infection. She told me that I could put breastmilk into it! Within 24 hours the infection was almost completely gone.

God sure is awesome. I felt like he took care of me in what seemed like a small thing. Not only did he give me superhuman powers that I didn't even know about, but I believe he had my midwife (who is also a Christian) call me at just the right time.
