Adventures of Travis

It all started out with Travis' finger getting jammed on Saturday catching a football. His finger started swelling up. He tried everything and it wouldn't go down. His finger was getting worse so he went to the fire department to have the ring cut off...
Snip, snipThen Travis took some aleeve to help with the swelling of his finger. Ironic. Saturday night I rolled over about 3:30 am and Travis wasn't there. So I found him in the bathroom staring at himself...

Me: What's wrong
Travis: Look at my lip
Me: Whoa, what happened (I start laughing... yes, at 3:30 am)
Travis: I googled it... I think I'm allergic to aleeve. If this doesn't get better I can't speak at church.
Me: Let me find the Benedryl
Travis: How much can I take?
Me: All I have is children's, just start taking it!

By 6:00 am it had gotten even bigger and spread to his entire bottom lip. Ever seen Will Smith in Hitch? Yeah. Like that, except not in his eyes. Just his face and lips. He called Jesse to speak and I loaded up the 3 kids and headed to Homestead by myself!

By the afternoon it had spread to his top lip and his face felt weird. Yeah, he missed the Plantation Key service too. He was doped up on Benedryl so bad he could barely talk. Things were better by Monday night, but it was a weird, hilarious weekend! Every time I thought about it or looked at him I cracked up laughing. He won't post a picture of it yet... YET.

Tudor Wedding / LPC baptism

We had a pretty incredible weekend. A Baptism/Wedding on Saturday (I did the cake!). Brad Tudor and Christa McCracken got married. We love them! Kourtney's best friends, Julia and Sara Molina got baptized - precious. Kind of cool because Travis dedicated them and now baptized them too. Here are some pics of the events...

School lunches

While I have much to post about from the long weekend we had (a wedding, baptism/picnic, trip to the fire department to cut off a wedding ring, and my husband looking like Will Smith in Hitch with a swollen face) I decided to do a quick blog about school lunches...

Packing lunches is NOT my favorite thing to do. After dinner while baths, pj's, brushing teeth, and dinner clean up is going on, the last thing I want to do is drag everything out to make lunches. So I decided this week I am going to pack all 10 lunches at the same time so all I have to do is grab it out of the drawer in the fridge and throw it in the lunch box. I know, it's not THAT genius of an idea, but I got excited when I figured it out.

What I want to know is what other moms pack, what tricks you may have, and any great lunch ideas!

I usually do carrots and ranch dip, a fresh cut up fruit, a turkey sandwhich, chips, a danimal yogurt smoothie, and a dessert. Sometimes uncrustables and sometimes a boiled egg. What do you do???

24 to Double

We to a conference in Cooper City with some LPC leaders last night. We stayed out way too late and laughed a lot. Always great to be with such awesome people. We ate at Stir Crazy after the conference and I didn't get home until like 12:30 am I think... Blake didn't get the sleep late memo and was up at 5:45 am... at least he wasn't up at 5 like he's done recently.
Jesse's so crazy... Mark too

Just another day in paradise

We went to Rudy and Susan's today to jet ski and hang out. Maybe one of the best Saturdays I've had down here so far! Nice little private beach for the kiddos, shade, jet skis, pizza, great friends. I am really tired tonight so that is good. Since we moved down in February the most I've been in the water is wading out in Founder's Park even though we are surrounded by jet skis and boats! So today was fun. Everyone (including each of our children) had a turn on the jet ski and I even took one out for a spin by myself. At the bottom is a video of Kourtney jumping into the water. I did push her in the first time. I felt kind of bad but I could tell how much she wanted to go in but just wouldn't. After I pushed her she went again and again and again. I also threw Blake in to Travis and then jumped in with him.
Perfect place to play in the sand with the Lucas kids
I first got on with Blake and Travis. Blake was not too happy at first but he warmed up
Travis took the Kourtney and Natalie out for a spin and got a bit too spinny... they all fell in! Kourtney said it was the best part of the day! Natalie told Travis she thought she was going to die! So cute. They were like the cool kids who fell off the jet ski. Here it is...
Blake sacked out... he's a keys boy napping in a hammock
We had a couple visitors today... very large iguanas down here
