Friends from Ohio

Dawn Aurand, a friend from childhood, visited from good old Toledo, OH. She was with Jaime and Christopher (her hubby and son). Christopher is 4 and got along great with my girls. I love taking people out to Robert is Here. So after some pizza at the house, that is what we did! I called Erin and Caden and they joined us!Erin and Caden and

Poolside

We were at a hotel last night. Kourtney is braver every time she goes to the pool. These are really just for my mom and dad to see how much she loves to swim! The first one is the best I think.

In this one Blake and McKenna had been sleeping in the stroller. Blake just woke up.

Tiaras and Lizards

Kourtney is a princess. She loves to dress up and wear tiaras and fluffy pink stuff. She wants to dance like Cinderella and sing like Belle. However, she is not afraid to let her sporty, feisty side out either. She chases lizards and catches them. They are in abundance down here and often make their way inside of the house. You stop freaking out after a while and realize they are harmless. Kourtney likes to catch and release. She is our Lizard Exterminator.

Video Comments:
- Don't make fun of McKenna for her socks and crocks. She was wearing them to protect her bites. This was before her foot was too swollen to walk.
- Please excuse the garbage, pizza box, and utter mess by the front door. I have been exposed.
- I was holding Blake, jumping from couch to table because I can't stand the things!
- Yes, we still have chairs from the Easter Egg Hunt meeting in our house - we finally moved those today!

Grrrrrr... red ants

Please excuse the bad pedicure!
My poor little McKenna. She had a rough day on Sunday. First, we thought we were going to the beach to have a church picnic and baptism. That didn't happen and you can read the story on Travis' blog about why. But she was okay with that because we were going to a park by our house instead. She was on her "green car" as she calls it and she ran over an ant hill and got bit 9 times on one foot. She can't walk today. Her foot is so swollen and red. She has been an angel about it. Not really complaining or bothering the bites. She says, "the ants came out of their hill and gave me bug bites. Then they went back home."

I HATE RED ANTS. I stepped in a pile last week, but didn't have it nearly as bad as McKenna. I never even knew ants could bite until I moved to south Florida. I thought they were harmless little critters. I learned quickly to watch the grass and if I feel even the slightest twinge on my foot while outside (or even inside) I always quickly check.

Miami Seaquarium

We went back to use our annual passes. It was very hot, but fun. The Flipper show was very cool. Uncle Philio went with us too.
I could never get...
...them to all smile...
...at the same time!
Riding the dolphin
Working the camera for candy! There was a scuba diver down with the fish. It was very cool.
If you look closely you can see the Sea Turtle in the water, the deer in the shrubs, and an iguana behind the deer (the iguana is more clear in the next picture). Quite an interesting combo.

Feeling nostalgic

This was the first time I met my son. Where is the time going? I can't believe Blake is 7 months old today. My baby is growing up too fast.

Happy Belated Birthdays

Aunt Brittany and Uncle Phil both had birthdays recently. Sorry we missed them! We were trying not to throw up on each other around here. Aunt Brittany, we love you very much. We wish you lived closer to us. I don't think you really know how much my mom and I love you. Sometimes when we talk about how thankful we are for you marrying Kevin we start to cry.
Uncle Phil, you are a fun, funny uncle. I'll never forget when I made you an uncle for the first time (you're welcome). You were so attentive and loving towards Kourtney and me. You brought me flowers and arepas to the hospital. Thanks for loving my kids!

Life made easier

No more hauling water from the shelf to the cart from the cart to the car from the car to the house every single week. The best part, I'm actually going to save money!!! We go through about 1.5 cases of water a week. I don't buy juice for the girls anymore, so this is all they drink (and actually Kourtney prefers water over soda when we go out now). Thanks Annie for the idea and Zephyrhills for making life easier!

Edited:
I wanted to add that it was very easy to set up service. I filled out some stuff online and they were here two days later. I never even talked to anyone. The way I save is like this... 1.5 cases of water per week is 19 gallons a month and about $30.00 a month. With Zephyrhills I get 20 gallons for $30.00 (and the free delivery rocks) - so really only one extra gallon. It is a small amount that I am saving, but it is worth it to me for not having to haul water around. Oh - and the equipment rental is free as well.

Fortune cookie message of the week

Tammy set up for Travis to watch the kids tonight and she took me to eat at PF Changs, mmmmm.... We were going to share our fortune cookie messages in light of our LPC message series right now, but I lost them. Tammy's said something about eating the lettuce wraps. I can't remember mine. I guess it wasn't too profound. Thanks for dinner Tammy.

6 month check-up

I forgot to post Blake's 6 month check up stats. Then I found him chewing on his sticker from the doctor's office. He did great. Dr. Dones always brags on my kids. Makes me feel like a million bucks. He talked for her and laughed at her. He's doing great and eating every fruit and veggie in sight. He had to get 4 shots :(. But he is so tough. Just cried for a minute.

Can you explain this?

This is not a joke. I thought if I dumped the sock box I would be able to match up the socks. I found two matches and was left with the rest of these.

Don't you just wanna pinch those cheeks?

On the mend

I was thrown up on by all three of my kids in one week. But I think we are better. I hope. I pray the bug doesn't hit your house too. BLAH!

Guitar Hero, Blake trying to crawl

Despite our sickness, we still found time to rock this week. I had the kids out on Wednesday because I thought we were all better!

Sick

If I can just make it through this week... we have had coughs, fevers, runny noses, ear infections, soar throats, and stomach bugs. I have been woken up every night and washed my bedding twice now in two days. I think I need to lysol bomb my house.

The Major

Chris has been waiting for these all week I am sure. He always complains about not being on my blog enough. Well here ya go! We watched Survivor as Parvati stole the win from Amanda on Sunday night. Oh well.

Just another day in paradise

What a week. We were all so sick yesterday I could barely move. I think Kourtney and I ate something bad at a restaurant the night before and McKenna had a fever and a cough all day. It was a trying day as a mommy. But we are back. I found these old pictures from when my Grandpa was in town. These were taken on the way back from the Keys.

What are mommies for?

I was sent a forward where kids were asked about their moms. I thought I would conduct the same survey with Kourtney. My daughter is very matter of fact and analytical. McKenna heard her taking the quiz and she wanted me to ask her too. Here are the results...

Why did God make moms?
K: To have children
M: I just... why did they make daddies?

How did God make moms?
K: Other mommies had the mommies
M: I know why he make mommies

What ingredients are mommies made out of?
K: I don't know? What ingredients? I don't know.
M: straw

Why did God give you your mommy?
K: If I didn't have a mother I would have to take care of all the stuff myself
M: God made my mother.

What kind of little girl was your mommy?
K: I don't know because I wasn't born
M: I don't know.

What did your mom need to know about dad before she married him?
K: To love him and like him better.
M: I don't want to marry him.

Why did mom marry dad?
K: So the kids could have a daddy and love their daddy
M: lost interest at this point.

Who is the boss?
Mommy and daddy

What's the difference between your mom and dad?
Daddies don't wear dresses and mommies don't get to wear underpants

What does mommy do in her free time?
Gets to go to store when someone is babysitting me.

What makes your mommy the perfect mommy for you?
They have nice voices and look pretty and wear beautiful dresses.

If you could change one thing about mommy what would it be?
That I could live in a castle with her.

Monday morning jokes

Kourtney to McKenna: Why did the chicken cross the road?
McKenna's response: What chicken?
Kourtney: It's a joke. Why did the chicken cross the road?
McKenna: I don't see a chicken.
Kourtney: It's a joke. Just say I don't know. Why did the chicken cross the road?
McKenna: I don't know.
Kourtney: To get to the other side.
Both: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Kourtey really is a good joke teller. I have never been good at remembering jokes but she loves them.

Happy Mother's Day

I miss you mom. I have been so blessed to have such a wonderful mother. I also have the best mother-in-law a girl could ask for (Anne J., that's you!). Today was so much fun. Life Pointe rocked it out for the women today. Anne J. worked so hard and it all came together so beautifully! We had a couple chocolate fountains flowing in the lobby and fruit, cookies, flowers and marshmallows as far as the eye could see.
The jazz band set the atmosphere for a wonderful day. And it wasn't a rumor... Travis wore a suit and tie. I had to go stand by him in the lobby to fend the ladies off. Just kissing, I mean kidding. I can't help it that my hubby is so hott. How is it that Travis got to look so good and I was in this t-shirt again!?!?!?!?Mmmmm....A favorite post-church pass time.
