Thanks Aunt Brittany

I've gone youtube crazy. My mom finally got high speed internet and can watch the girls online. Thus the reason for all the vids. Here is one from them opening a package today...

Highlights: Kourtney wiping her nose on her shirt (gotta love that), McKenna thinking that I wanted her to open the bill at the same time as Kourtney (and then getting excited about it), McKenna's California surfer hair, Kourtney laughing at McKenna opening the bill... enjoy.

Rice Cereal

It's that time! Blake is almost 6 months old - can you believe it?!?!? I started giving him a little bit of rice cereal and he LOVES it! Whenever I am eating now he wants my food and screams at me sometimes for it! This was actually Travis' first time to ever feed Blake anything! They both did great. The girls got in on the action too. Before I know it, Blake will be a boy eating me out of house and home. For now, rice cereal will do.

LPC Easter Egg Hunt

I have not really had words to say what Friday night was like... I still don't. But here is a video shot by Ritz (who I need to link on my bloggers). He is the one in the video talking about the madness. You can read what Travis had to say about the egg hunt here or what Chris had to say about it here (btw Chris, where was your blue t-shirt? Afraid to be associated with us?!?!?). Or, if you want to read about an Easter Egg Hunt in Canton, GA that wins the award for insaneness go here. It makes ours seem like a walk in the park! It will definitely make you laugh.

I can be seen in the video at 3:27 running and saying, "no, no, no!" to some break away egg hunters trying to get an early start on the field!

What's your superpower?

Anyone who hangs out with me long enough knows that I have a superpower... I make milk! Kourtney nursed until she was 4 months and McKenna nursed until she was 9 months. Sometimes it is exhausting because Blake has to go everywhere I do or I have to pump a bottle, but it is worth it to me. A few weeks ago we were having breakfast in a hotel lobby and Blake starting fussing a bit. McKenna screamed (for all to hear quite well), "Mommy, Blake wants to eat your bewbie!!!" Can I say that on my blog? Well, if Travis can say crap in his sermon than I can talk about breastfeeding. I love it!

Saturday before Easter

We gave the kids their baskets on Saturday so they could enjoy them. Sundays are too crazy for that! Kourtney did not get that care bear... she just wanted to make sure it was in the picture. This is such a great age... they were thrilled to have a chocolate bunny, peeps, some new crayons, and a place mat. You would have thought it was Christmas morning.
The whole Johnson family was over on Saturday. It was very nice and despite the fact that we had a huge day ahead of us, it seemed pretty relaxing. Anne and JT's Easter gift was an Easter Egg hunt for the girls since they didn't get to participate at the LPC one (more on that later). So Anne stuffed eggs with candy and prize slips. The girls had a blast. We had to do it inside because it poured rain all day.

Easter Sunday

My kids survived being in three services back to back in their classes! They love being at church. When I picked Kourtney up I thought, she has heard the Easter lesson three times, she should REALLY know it!

Yeah, that

A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front yard. The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house and there was no sign of the dog. Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall.

In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a Cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing in the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door. He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife.

He was worried she might be ill, or that something serious had happened. He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the bathroom door. As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap and more toys strewn over the floor. Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls.

As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pajamas, reading a novel. She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went. He looked at her bewildered and asked, 'What happened here today?' She again smiled and answered, 'You know every day when you come home from work and you ask me what in the world I do all day?' 'Yes,' was his incredulous reply. She answered, 'Well, today I didn't do it.'

Disclaimer: Travis NEVER comes home and asks what in the world I have been doing all day!

Now I have three talking kids to make noise in my house. Quiet has become a desired state for me!

Great Grandchild #14, Blake

My Grandpa Webb (Alphus Eugene - Gene for short) was in town last weekend. He drove all the way from Ohio. When he got here he let me know that Blake was Great Grandchild #14 and he had seen #15 (Merick) the week before. I re- learned a few things about my Grandpa this weekend. I guess it means more when you are older... he was a Marine from 1949-1953. His dad worked in a Coke Plant (which he referred to as "pop" thank you) and he lived in the factory warehouse with his family for a while. There was a time when they lived in Louisiana as a boy that they didn't have power or running water. They kept their milk and butter in a tin pale by a spring to keep it cool. He met my Grandma Webb (Shirley, who passed away when I was 16) from being set up by his parents. He was supposed to go back to California where he had left his car after being in the service there. Instead he called his buddy and told him to take care of the car. My dad was born the next year.

Children (3):
Carl, Carol, and Roy

Brandon and
Toya had - Kamden, Kylar, and Kallie
Travis and Kelly had - Kourtney, McKenna, and Blake
Brianne and Travis had - Conner and Merick

Kevin and
Brittany - TBA!

We showed him some real Mexican food at El NachitosHe stuffed eggs with us at the church for our Easter Egg Hunt on SaturdayWe took him to the Keys to eat at Islamorada Fish Company

Straight from the Florida Keys

We took my Grandpa to the keys since he had never been. Actually, it had been a long time since I had gone too. We ate at the Islamorada Fish Co. My Grandpa had to try the gator bites, conch fritters, and had a bite of Travis' dolphin. To all of my friends who have been snowed in up north, don't complain about this video. Just come on down and I will take you to this restaurant! We will have your room waiting for you!

Fox News Reporter at 4 yrs old

I head Kourtney doing a "Fox Report" on the dock of Islamorada Fish Co. in the Keys and asked her if I could tape her. There was no script here, she made it up all on her own. Apparently she heard the reports from the weekend about the crane falling in NYC. I had no idea she listened so well.

Script:

"Today on Fox News a big boulder fell on a, on a rock and hit the glory of a house and smooshed everything of the people's stuff and smoohed their puppy. All done."

My Grandpa Webb

My Grandpa Webb came into town last week. McKenna kept thinking it was my dad that was coming and that Grammy was coming too. Kourtney kept calling him Great Great Grandpa - I guess she thought he was really great. More pictures to come later. I am tired from a long weekend!

Easter Eggs

So last week we invited over Erin, Caden, Meredith, and Mariah to color Easter eggs with us. We had a lot of fun.

LU

Best campus on earth

So blessed

I was flipping through channels today while folding laundry. I stopped on TLC's a Baby Story. I usually have that program tivo'd when I am pregnant and then stop watching after I have the baby - I drove Travis crazy! Anyways, I just happened to stop for the birth of the baby and couldn't help but tear up (as I usually do during that show) when the baby was born. Just makes me so thankful for my 3 beautiful kids. I am so blessed.

I'm just still trying to soak in every minute I can while they are this age. I enrolled Kourtney at her school for K4 next year. She is so excited and I am excited for her. Another step in this journey of parenthood. I am glad she is so excited, makes it easier on me to let go!

Showing off his new shoes

Yes, he is only 4.5 months old. He is so tall and smart already (spoken like a proud mommy)!

Doctor Time

Age: a little over 4 months (at time of appointment)
Height: 27 1/2 inches
Weight: 15 lbs, 6 oz

He had a bad ear infection that he did not indicate to me at all! So he is on antibiotics this week. Everything looks good!
