Walmart cart

If you live in Homestead and have ever been to Walmart (and if you HAVEN'T been to Walmart who are you???), you will understand why this post is blog worthy... Walmart has all new carts!!! I thought I got lucky and got a nice new one until I saw that everyone the store was happily pushing them around. At least they did one thing right over there!

And yes, I have been crazy enough to take all three kids to Walmart a time or two. It isn't my preference, but sometimes you just can't get around it.

My little turkeys

My mom and dad have been in town all week for thanksgiving. It has been great. So yesterday we got together with the Johnsons and had a feast. I wanted to take pictures all day, but could never seem to think of it at a convenient time. So this was the only one I got at the end of the day. Oh well!

I love him

Family Day

We took the kids (still getting used to saying kids instead of "the girls") on a trip yesterday. We took the metro rail to downtown Miami and went to Bayside. The girls danced to live music, rode the carousel and had a blast. Blake pretty much slept in the stroller the whole time unless he was eating or pooping - typical day for him!In front of Jeff Burton's car. It's race weekend in Homestead (last weekend of the Nascar Races), but this was his car on display in Miami. I have no idea who Jeff Burton is, but Travis told me he was famous!

Piggies!

McKenna let me put Pigtails in her hair two days in a row now. They are the cutest thing ever!

An expensive lesson

It was gonna happen. With three kids all under the age of 4, a careless mistake was gonna get me. It did yesterday. I thought we were doing good. Got out the door with everything we would need to be gone for 14 hours with 3 young kids. Got to church on time with everyone dressed and fed. I was proud of myself for remembering to lock the door as I was got out of the car. I got Blake, shut the door, and then Travis asked me for the keys. There they were, plain as day inside of the car. An hour from home and locked out of the car. My heart sank.

After I got over my frustration, I remembered watching Pollyanna with Kourtney when my mom was here. It was one of my favorite shows as a kid. Pollyanna is always trying to find good things in situations even when it seems there isn't one. So I became thankful. Thankful that Blake wasn't locked in the car - then we would have been paying for glass repair instead of a locksmith. Thankful that even though my diaper bag was locked in the car Blake could still eat because I am nursing and the church had diapers I could use. And then my mind turned to the car accident Travis and I saw on the turnpike Saturday. Two cars flipped upside down and people crying... we knew what happened. So then I was thankful it was just my dumb keys in the car and nothing serious had happened.

Yes, I had a $70 lesson in thankfulness. Instead of thinking how I could have gotten a new outfit, gone on a nice date, or had a pedicure, I will be thankful. Maybe you should try to put things in perspective too.

I like how Carrie Underwood says it in her song "So Small," "...sometimes that mountain you've been climbing is just a grain of sand." Find something around you to be thankful for today despite the little things around you that may be getting to you!

Kourtney and church

Yesterday we didn't go to Life Pointe and it felt so weird. I missed all of my friends and just being at Life Pointe. I think our church rocks! We went up to INdependence Church in Weston. They are a church plant that we are supporting. It was great getting to see what they are doing! They really have it together! When I told Kourtney what we were doing she had a melt down. She said, but I want to see Maggie, Meredith, Julie, Sarah, and Lexi!!! They won't know where I am. It was so sweet.

Then last when we told her we were going to another church at night her face lit up. Travis spoke at Monument of Faith and Jesse and The Saturn Project rocked the house. I love that she loves church. I love church too.

Kourtney catchin the waves

She loved the water so much! Such a cutie.

Ft. Lauderdale Beach

This may have been the most perfect beach day of my life. The weather was incredible. The beach was easy to get to. Parking was free. The kids were great. Now if I can just get all the sand out of the car and the tub I will be happy! The girls would have stayed all day they had such a blast. Blake was a perfect baby too!

No reason...

...just cuz Grammy misses her babies.Kourtney really was sleeping here. She got up from her nap and went and laid down by Blake. Next thing I knew, she was sleeping again.

Doctor Time

Kourtney and Blake both had check-ups today. By 7:45 all three kids were dressed, fed, and loaded in the car. I even showered and got to eat myself! I took them all by myself. I was so proud. They were angels while we were out. I am so blessed to have such great kids.

Kourtney (4 yr check up)
She is always close to the 100% in both her height and weight. They were 95-100 percentile today: 43 inches (3 ft, 7 in) and 44 pounds

They took her blood pressure, tested her vision, checked her spine, checked her reflexes, looked for Tinkerbell in her ears, and asked her about what she ate. She answered all of the questions and was very cooperative.

She got 3 shots and did great! She was so brave. She climbed up on the table and laid down. After the shots she cried for a minute. The first thing she said was, "I want my daddy!" But then she was fine! She was so sweet about it that I almost cried. I have never cried when any of my kids have gotten shots, but this time I did tear up. What a woos I am.

Dr. Dones said she is very smart for her age (I knew that) and very cooperative (I knew that too).

Blake (2 week check up)
He is eating like a champ. He gained almost a whole pound in two weeks and grew a whole inch!

Weight today: 9lbs, 13 oz (Birth weight: 8lbs, 14 oz)
Length today: 23 inches (Birth length: 22 inches)

This scares me a little. We may not be able to keep him in clothes or shoes!!!

They did another heel prick to get 5 BIG drops of blood. Poor guy.

McKenna
Well, McKenna didn't have an appointment, but she went along. After Kourtney was weighed and measured she announced to the nurse, "My turn!"

After Kourtney's shots (when she was still crying on the table) McKenna was hugging her legs asking her if she was okay. When Kourtney came down they hugged for a while - melted my heart! McKenna kept asking Kourtney if she was okay.

When the doctor asked her what she was for Halloween she said, "I'm Kenna!"

Right now her and Kourtney are re-enacting the whole appointment.

Thanks Mom

Wow, my mom is awesome. She has been here for almost 3 weeks now to help me with this birth. She has been my nurse, my babysitter for the girls, my housekeeper, my friend, and a great Grammy! She barely let me touch a dish or make myself a meal. She fed, bathed, dressed, and played with Kourtney and McKenna the whole time she was here. More importantly, she got up with my early bird (this is a recent thing) between 5am-6am every day. McKenna is due for some sleep training when Grammy leaves, Grammy just didn't have the heart.
She took pictures, video taped, missed my dad, played Polly Pockets, got very little sleep, did my laundry, drank Dunkin Donuts coffee with me, read princess books, walked the malls with me when I was trying to get Blake out, mopped my floors, cooked, baked, picked up after all of us, spent way too much money on us, and I could not have made it through this birth without her! She is awesome! She cleaned my whole house today when we went for our family pictures so she could leave me with a clean house.
Thank you mom!!!! I love you!
