The forbidden words

Kourtney is not allowed to say certain potty words that toddlers LOVE saying. Since we are all adults here, I will tell you that she thinks she is a comedian when she says ca-ca, poo-poo, doodey, poopy, pee-pee... you get the point. When we are in the bathroom, obviously she has a legitimate need to say these words. So our rule is that when she is in the bathroom she is allowed to express herself in true potty-mouth fashion. Sometimes she goes into the bathroom not to use it, but to say the words and laugh at herself.

"Is our new house finished yet?"

Kourtney knows that we are moving into a new house. We drive by it, walk inside, talk about it. She knows that when we move there she is going to get a "junk bed" (aka: bunk bed). So every day, probably 5 times a day, she asks, "Is our new house finished yet?" She refers to the house we presently live in as our "old house" even though we still live here.


She says things like,
"Are we going to our old house, mommy?"
"Can we go see our new house?"
"Are Julie and Sarah coming to our old house for Bible study tonight?"
"When we move into our new house, I get to sleep in a junk bed."

It is going to be a long few months before we get in there!

Good time had by all...

Travis can always have a birthday cake... but he can't always have a cake that says "Congratulations Bishop!" Next week Travis will be officially ordained as a Bishop. I'm so proud of him!
I just can't get him to take a normal picture! Lisette and I schemed to get him wearing this hat! He didn't make too much of a fuss about it... I think he actually liked it. Josh, Mike, Travis, Joe, and Rolando... what a mess!

Daddy's Birthday

Travis' birthday was June 13th so celebrated by eating at Friday's and taking the girls to the play area at a mall (what a great dad). Don't worry... his actual party was on the 14th. More on that later.

"Here's some for you McKenna banana."

So, we went bowling Sunday night...

Life Pointe took a night out for some fellowship. I hear the lanes weren't waxed right... at least that is what some of the better bowlers blamed their terrible scores on! Me, I scored an 84. That is good considering I was bowling and at the same time I was taking turns with Manny helping 5 little girls roll the ball down the lane. Talk about a sore back. There were about 50 of us that came out. We had a great time!

It's 6:15 AM and...

...Kourtney is whispering by my bed, "I am ready to go swimming now mommy." I think I made a mistake by telling her too early that her friends were coming over the next day to swim! They had fun though!

I wanna go on stage!

Julie and Sarah were dancing bluebirds in their dance recital last night. We went to see them with Kourtney. On the way in Kourtney asked why McKenna couldn't come (JT and Anne babysat). They are almost never apart!

It was so neat and Kourtney LOVED it. We have been telling her that she can have dance classes when she turns three. She wanted to be on stage last night . She danced in the bathroom, in the aisle, and to the car. The dancing bluebirds (no flash photography allowed :( )

McKenna is NOT a crawler

I don't understand what I have done to both of my kids, but they are NOT crawlers. Kourtney didn't crawl - she rolled around and scooted. Then two days before her birthday she stood up and walked. She never really even cruised along furniture. She wasn't afraid though. McKenna is terrified! I put her in this position to see what she would do. She sat there and screamed until I picked her up. She didn't try to go after her toys or anything!It looks like she is staring over a cliff and is about to fall off!
