Purple Eggs with sprinkles
Kourtney has not really eaten much in the last week. Yesterday she had a bite of a pbj, a fruit cup, and a few grapes. Of course being the nuerotic mom I am this sort of thing freaks me out. I know it is related to her sickness, but I would have thought she would have started eating by now. At about 3am last night she got up three times and came down stairs. The third time she said, "I'm hungry mommy." So what does any concerned mother do? I made her a full course meal! Chicken, yogurt, fruit cup, and a few bites of cereal. Anything I could get down her!
This morning when I asked her what she wanted for breakfast she said she wasn't hungry but I know that breakfast is her favorite meal! So I decided to get creative. I offered her eggs in any color and sprinkles if she wanted them! The purple eggs were a hit! I wonder if you can color green beans purple for lunch!Saturday, February 18, 2006
The Island Queen
We went on a boat tour of Biscayne Bay near downtown Miami. We left out from Bayside in downtown Miami.
Kourtney before we left for the tour.
John and Carol Wurzell have been in town from Toledo and we enjoyed their last night here on the water.
McKenna munchin on a pretzel on the boat!
The water and skyline was beautiful. Too bad my camera does not take good pictures with the flash off. This was the best I could do.
This is Shaq's house. I was so fascinated by it when we went by that I forgot to get a good picture!Wednesday, February 15, 2006
Sisters share everything!
Even ear infections, coughs, runny noses, fevers, and sleepless nights! Just had one second to post this between wiping noses and comforting the sick. Both girls started antibiotics today. Just hope that means sleep for mommy soon.
McKenna always finds comfort in those fingers!
Kourtney is telling me this is Grandpa. More to come on that in a later blog.

Let's Pray
One of the most precious times of the day for me is when Kourtney prays. We started praying with her at night when she was young and she got to the point that she could pray on her own without being told what to say. Her bedtime prayer has evolved from, "Lord, bless Kourtney, Amen" to "Lord, bless Kourtney, help her have good dreams, and go downstairs when I wake up in the morning." When she prays for food she says, "Lord, bless this food, Amen."
To hear my innocent little daughter pray just makes my day. If I am feeling really sentimental I tear up a little bit.
She also likes to preach. She will get up on a stool and say, "I need to preach!" She will grab a Bible and start talking about God and Jesus and ramble a little bit.
Thank you Lord for such a beautiful little girl!

I've never even been to a parade...
...but last weekend I was in one! Our church participated in the Homestead Rodeo Parade. (By the way, that is Kourtney's new "smile" face)
The band played on the float while we passed out candy and invite cards.
Kourtney and I were dressed in the best cowgirl stuff we could find and the kids all had a great time.
Unfortunately Travis was out of town and missed it all, but that's okay... we are the true rednecks at heart. He won't even let me listen to country in the car!
