The Creels of Houston

We got to see Travis' friend, Jamison, and his beautiful family in Houston, TX. Jamison and Kelli have two kids, Andrew and Abigail. Andrew is almost 2 and a daughter Abigail is one month older than McKenna. They are so cute! We had fun eating out (except Kelli who never really got to eat!) and shopping. Thanks for letting us stay with you!

3600 miles later

As I prepare to weed through all of the pictures we took on our trip, I just wanted to say that we had a great time seeing friends and family. We covered 5 states, 3600 miles (with the help of our new portable dvd player), stayed in two hotels, with two families, opened presents three times, and had a blast! I hope you all had as great of a Christmas as we did. Off to sort through my electronic pictures...

2005 Johnson Christmas Letter

For those of you who received a Christmas card from us and are logging on for the anual Christmas letter, here it is!

It has been a great year for us! We added three new family members... a daughter and two sister-in-laws! Moved into a new home (again). And survived another crazy hurricane season with very little damage to speak of.

In January we were told we were having a boy. We chose the name Luke Zachary and all of our friends and family joined in the excitement!

In May we moved (again) into the house that we had been building. We have one more move next summer into another new construction home. God has blessed us with the real estate we have!

Travis' brother, Phillip was married June 13th. It was nice to see so many family and friends. We love Marcela! She is a great sister and aunt.

Our biggest surprise this year came in the delivery room on July 11th at 4:08 PM when we went to the hospital to deliver Luke. The doctor told us we had a really big (9 lbs to be exact) girl! We named her McKenna Grace! Kourtney calls her “McKenna banana.” McKenna is a bundle of joy and smiles at anyone who will glance her way.

Kourtney embraced McKenna from day one and loves her sister very much. She continues to amaze us with her sheer brilliance and McKenna is not far behind her. Kourtney can count to 20, say her ABC’s, tell us who the president is, and spell her name. In all of that, I can only get her to sit on the potty if I give her a piece of candy. Any advice is welcome! Two in diapers is trying!

Kelly's brother, Kevin, was married in September. It was a simple, quiet ceremony... until the flower girl came out! I guess with the long day and the fact that she wanted her daddy she had a melt down... right down the isle.

In November we lost a family member. Our welsh terrier, Torri, was hit by a car. It was a very sad day. Kourtney asked where she went and still calls her sometimes when we are outside.

We feel very blessed by God during this Christmas season. We hope that you are able to take a minute to reflect this holiday about why we are celebrating. We pray that God greatly blesses you and we wish you a wonderful New Year.

McKenna peed!

Kourtney called from the other room, "McKenna peed mommy!" I walked in to find McKenna stripped of her clothes - diaper and all. Apparantly Kourtney was trying to take some of the load off me by changing her diaper for me. It turned out to be a cute moment!

Two firsts in one day

When I picked Kourtney up from the nursery today they told me she pooped on the potty - that's a first! I have been putting her on the pot 2-3 times a day for a month and she has never gone for me! Then she goes for someone else! I think it was seeing all of her friends go. We are crossing our fingers that this becomes a habbit!

Then she missed her nap today due to our busy schedule - she has never missed a nap! She was so exhausted by 6:30 tonight that she couldn't keep her head up for dinner (see picture)!

Christmas Banquet

We had our church Christmas Banquet last night. We ate, played, sang, and acted stupid together. We had a blast and so did the kids. I have many fond memories of church Christmas banquet as a kid. Now I get to watch my girls have so much fun at them!

Kourtney has many friends but these are some of the best buds she has...
Julia, Sarah, and Kourtney
The Barrigs - Rosie, Jonathon, Gabe, Crystal, McKenna, and Kourtney
Gabe, Kourtney, and I can't tell which twin! Sorry!!!

Little House on the Prairie

Daddy thinks she looks too old fashioned in this but I think it is perfect. My real life Little House on the Prairie doll! A dream come true!

Shadows and Spit

Kourtney learned about a couple things on our day off today. We went for a stroll at Bayfront Park about 5 miles from our house. It is beautiful - you can see the Miami sky-line from the pier. Travis taught Kourtney how to spit like a man - I had NOTHING to do with it. Then he taught her about her shadow. We also went out to Robert is Here for a milk shake and to chase the chickens and pet the goats.

Diaper Phone Holder - The 2005 Toddler

Don't worry - we hardly ever use the home phone (we are cell phone people) and I think she was dry! What's next - walkers with built in tv's or bottles with starbucks in them? BTW - she did this on her own.
