I wanna hold McKenna

When Kourtney is in the mood to hold her sister she plops up on the couch and declares her intentions. When she is finished, we better be there to catch McKenna or she will just get right up!

Just us turkeys

We spent Thanksgiving Day with many loved ones! We ate lunch at our house with my parents, Travis' parents, my brother and sister-in-law, our girls, and later a few friends came by to pick at the left overs and play some video games. It was a great day. The weather was gorgeous (even though I prefer jeans and sweaters on Thanksgiving), the food was great, and the company was even better. We invited Casey (our youth pastor) over to play video games but the real reason was so he could take the picture of all of us! In the picture at the top you can see McKenna looking up at everyone. We were doing our best to keep Kourtney happy so we were all singing "CHEESE" in harmony and McKenna wondered what was going on!

Miami for the Holidays

My parents came in on the Friday before Thanksgiving. We have had a blast with them! The frirst night we met them at Ruby Tuesdays and Grammy fell right into her role like she never left. We enjoyed the week just staying home and playing and cooking. I had a little bit of freedom and was able to run around and do things without taking two kids with me everywhere! Poor Travis was sick all week long. I think he tried to hack up a lung, but he is feeling a little better now. Kourtney loved to go into Grammy's bed and play with her. All week she would say, wanna go to Grammy's room? Grandpa and Grammy took Kourtney's monitor and got her up every morning to give mom and dad a break! Kourtney baked Christmas cookies with Grammy and Grandpa entertained McKenna. Travis and were able to go on a date and have some alone time. The girls enjoyed staying home and being fussed over - bath, food and love! The holidays are great!

Peek-a-boo!

or as Travis' family says... peep-eye (am I spelling that right?). McKenna loves to be on her tummy and play with Kourtney's toys. My mom found this magical shot and I took it too! What a cutie!

Feed me!

McKenna started eating real food for the first time this week! She is enjoying every drop of the rice cereal I am feeding her. When I pull the spoon away she gets upset and even cries sometimes. It is like I can't get it in fast enough! In these pictures she doesn't have a bib on because she was getting dressed right after. She is an absolute mess when we are done. The cereal turns into a cement like substance that is not easy to get off!

Finally cooling off... down to 80 today!

The heat is finally starting to loosen it's grip on us. What does that mean for us? Kourtney gets to play outside! She loves to run in the yard. She runs in circles and says, "run, run, run!" When she kicks her ball she stops and claps for herself and then kicks it again. She would play outside all day long if she could. I hope it stays this way and doesn't get too hot again for a long time!

Daddy's girls

Travis is always bragging on his girls. He loves them a ton. Kourtney is a daddy's girl through and through. When he is getting ready to leave the house she says, "Wanna go with me, daddy?" She means, "can I go with you.?" She wants to be wherever he is and has no problem leaving me to be wherever he is. That is fine with me, I want my girls to love their daddy! McKenna's face just lights up whenever Travis talks to her. She responds to her daddy's voice and loves to smile at him!

Finger lickin' good

McKenna could be the poster child for KFC. She will not take the pacifier despite my earnest efforts. She spits it out, sticks her fingers in her mouth and laughs at me. It is cute for right now but fingers are not something I can take away from her like we took the nuk from Kourtney! At least in the middle of the night she can find her fingers and go back to sleep.

I'm a princess

Ever since Aimee Herrera's princess tea party, Kourtney is all about being a princess. At the party she had her nails painted, her make-up done, and they gave her princess jewelry. If she puts a head band on it makes her a princess. If she puts a pretty dress on it makes her a princess. Church shoes - she's a princess.

Yesterday we were at the mall to take our holiday pictures. We stopped into the Disney store and Kourtney found this princess table. She was a princess. I think her daddy would have been suckered into getting it for her for Christmas if it hadn't been $100!!!

I wanna see Julie Sarah!

I never would have imagined I would be close friends with Marsha Brady... I mean Lisette Molina! Manny and Lisette started coming to our church a while ago and then they moved in right across the street from us this summer! Our families have become so close.

Kourtney LOVES the twins and always asks to see "Julie Sarah"... I think she is starting to realize they EACH have a name. Maybe one of these days even I will be able to tell them apart. All I know is that their mom has more patience than I could ever have... 7 kids!

We had a great time with them yesterday as they renewed their vows (they originally were married in a court house). It was an awesome time and I think Kourtney may have had more fun than anyone there. She danced her heart out (pictured with Lexi Martinez).

Body Art

I guess Kourtney is very passionate about coloring... she even colored her sister. She came and told me that she did it and immediately she said sorry McKenna, sorry mommy! I took her markers away and she started crying. I asked her where she was supposed to color and she said (in a crying voice) on the poster! I said go give McKenna a kiss and tell her you are sorry. She said (in a crying voice) okayyyyyyy!
It was quite funny.

VideoShare: Best Buddies

Kourtney and McKenna are best buds.
They love to laugh at each other and lay on the floor together.
Kourtney thinks it is hilarious when McKenna plays with her hair. When I ask Kourtney what happened to McKenna's hair she is pretty stumped about that one. Who is imitating whom? Kourtney has started sucking on her fingers now that her sister does it all the time. While McKenna wants to be like her big sister, Kourtney wants to be like her little sister! She says, I am a baby!

A minute to brag

Kourtney loves to learn new things. She can say her ABC's and count to 20. She loves to write and color. She knows all of her colors and can sing several songs. She LOVES to sing and when there is a piano around she can sing and play at the same time! She loves Dora, Barney, and Elmo. She plays pretend and has a great imagination. She is never lacking for a game to play - even by herself. This week she has been taking all of her dolls and animals to the doctor. She has been the doctor and she always makes everyone feel better. She checks their ears, mouth, feet, makes them breath. It is very cute. She keeps telling me I want to be a doctor - already thinking about what she wants to be. I think she is brilliant! In this picture she was asking, "Where daddy is?" I replied with the usual answer, "at church!"
Kourtney is a great big sister! She loves to entertain McKenna is very entertained by McKenna. They laugh a lot together. She is still learning how to share, but it gets better every day. Last week McKenna had toy that Kourtney wanted named Jack. I told her that McKenna was playing with Jack and she needed to find another toy. So she went and got a bunny out of the toy box and told me the bunny's name was Jack. Then she gave the bunny to McKenna and took Jack off to the doctor! What a smarty pants!

Working on crawling

McKenna is trying to keep up with her big sister. She loves to scoot everywhere. She is a mover and a shaker. It won't be long and she will be crawling!
She can already roll over and move from one side of my bed to the other!
She is also talking up a storm. She gets that from her daddy!

She is My Daughter!

Everyone thought the picture in the frame was McKenna when they saw it but it is me. The scared look on her face is very similar to mine too! Here is the picture I finally did of her prints and stats.
